CBS Plans “Zoo” Event Series For Summer 2015

CBS has ordered a thirteen episode straight-to-series TV adaptation of James Patterson’s 2012 thriller novel “Zoo” for 2015.

A departure for Patterson who made his name penning the Alex Cross novel series, the global thriller deals with a wave of violent animal attacks against humans across the planet.

As the assaults become more cunning, coordinated and ferocious, a young renegade biologist is thrust into the race to unlock the pandemic’s mystery before humans become the endangered species.

Jeff Pinkner (“Fringe”), Andre Nemec (“Star-Crossed”), Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg (“Life on Mars”) will co-write the script and will executive produce alongside James Mangold (“The Wolverine”), Cathy Konrad (“Girl, Interrupted”), Patterson, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout and Steve Bowen.

The series will premiere next summer, becoming an event series much like the returning “Under the Dome” and the upcoming “Extant” are this Summer for the network.
