CBS Has Some “Scary Stories to Tell”

CBS Films has picked up the film rights to Alvin Schwartz’s 1981 horror folktale anthology book “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” to adapt as a feature.

The film will follow a group of kids who band together to save their town from living nightmares. Several of the memorable short stories will then be incorporated into the narrative.

“Saw” sequel co-scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan delivered a pitch for the project which CBS has also acquired, and will now pen the script. Sean Daniels, Jason Brown and Elizabeth Grave will produce.
