CBS Cancels “The Millers” Early

In an unexpected move, CBS has cancelled its comedy series “The Millers” part way into its second season.

The network made the decision late Friday afternoon and production is being shut down immediately. This coming Monday’s episode will still air, beyond that it appears to be done and over. No word yet as to what will take its place.

The sitcom boasted a trio of great actors – Will Arnett, Margo Martindale and Beau Bridges – but suffered from poor reviews, mostly to do with the material.

The show also lost its prime post-“Big Bang Theory” timeslot this season, moving instead behind “2 Broke Girls” where it has struggled in the ratings and pulled in just a 1.5 rating and 6.5 million viewers despite having a major lead-in from new drama “Scorpion”.
