“Somesault” and “Lore” director returned to screens at Sundance this year with her new thriller “Berlin Syndrome”. Now though, she’s going back to where she originally came from for her next project – the event series “The Monaro”.
The eight episode show will be set in the 1830s, revolve around six women, and will be based on a true crime case. Shortland has apparently been thinking about the project since her film school days.
She is currently working with a team of writers on the scripts, with plans to shoot mid-year in Australia. “Berlin Syndrome” will get a theatrical run later this year before hitting Netflix.
