Cate Blanchett In Talks For “Thor: Ragnarok”?

Cate Blanchett is reportedly in talks to play one of the new female leads in the Taika Waiti-directed “Thor: Ragnarok” at Marvel Studios.

The award-winning actress, currently fielding accolades for her work in “Carol,” would be booking her first major comic book role with the “Thor” film and would join a returning Chris Hemsworth as the Norse God, Tom Hiddleston as his villainous brother Loki, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

Stephany Folsom recently polished the script which is rumored to contain two new major female roles – one being Marvel’s first major female villain. Blanchett’s character isn’t known at this point.

Filming will take place in Queensland, Australia next year ahead of a November 3rd 2017 release.
