Shanley Caswell (“Bones”) and Spencer Locke (“Cougar Town”) have joined the cast of the $10 million indie teen horror-comedy “Detention” says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story centers on teens who must survive their final year of high school. Standing in their way is a slasher-movie killer who has seemingly come to life.
Caswell will play a cute but awkward girl trying to connect with her school crush (Josh Hutcherson). Locke will play the school’s head cheerleader. Dane Cook also stars.
Kahn and Mark Palermo penned the script. Joseph Kahn (“Torque”) will direct the project and is producing alongside Richard Weager, Maryann Tanedo and David Kang.
Shooting kicks off this month in Los Angeles.
