Den of Thieves
Sam Worthington is set to join Gerard Butler in Christian Gudegast’s heist thriller “Den of Thieves” for Relativity Studios. Filming begins in January in Los Angeles and Puerto Rico.
Gudegast directs from his own script which follows a notorious crew of bank robbers who target the Federal Reserve in Los Angeles, right under the nose of a rogue sheriff’s deputy. Mark Canton, Alan Siegel, Ryan Kavanaugh and Tucker Tooley will produce. [Source: The Wrap]
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates
Aubrey Plaza (“Parks and Recreation,” “The To-Do List”) is set to join the cast of Jake Szymanski’s comedy “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” for 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment. Zac Efron and Adam DeVine play brothers who place an online ad to find dates for a wedding, only to have the ad go viral. Anna Kendrick also stars. [Source: Variety]
Break my Heart 1000 Times
Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit,” “Ender’s Game”) is attached to star in Scott Speer’s supernatural romantic thriller “Break My Heart 1,000 Times” based on the novel by Daniel Waters. Jason Fuchs adapted the script.
The story is set after a cataclysmic event that has left ghost-like essences of the deceased as part of everyday life. One of these ‘Remnants’ sends a threatening message to a young girl – propelling her on a mission that will forever change the course of her life. [Source: The Wrap]
Jessica Madsen (“Mr. Selfridge”) will join Sam Strike and James Bloor in the upcoming ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ prequel feature “Leatherface” at Millennium Films. Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo are directing.
The story explores Leatherface’s early years in the 1970s, will be presented as a mystery of sorts about three teenage psychopaths – one of whom grows up to be the chainsaw-wielding maniac. Madsen will play an escaped mental patient. [Source: The Wrap]
