The Last of Us
Maisie Williams (“Game of Thrones”) has confirmed that while everyone involved wants her for the role of Ellie in the Sam Raimi-produced film adaptation of “The Last of Us,” nothing is official just yet.

Williams has also confirmed that she’s been in talks for a new superhero TV show based on an idea for an unpublished graphic novel. [Source: Flicks and the City]

The Walking Dead
Alexandra Breckenridge (“American Horror Story”) has scored a recurring role in the fifth season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead”. It isn’t known when her character will first appear, but she have the option to become a series regular in Season 6.

Officially Breckenridge plays Samantha, a mother and bohemian artist and a character who doesn’t appear in the comics. Unofficially, sources indicate the character name and description are just ‘placeholders’ with her real identity to be revealed when the show airs. [Source: THR]

William Hurt, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Colin Morgan, Rebecca Front, Neil Maskell and Gemma Chan have joined the cast of the remake of the Swedish sci-fi series “Humans” for AMC, Channel 4 and Kudos.

The story is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget is a highly-developed robotic servant. One strained suburban family purchases a refurbished synth, only to discover the decision has far-reaching and chilling consequences. [Source: Variety]

Love is All You Need
Briana Evigan (“Step Up 5”) and Emily Osment (“Hannah Montana”) have joined Kim Rocco Shields’ feature film version of the short film “Love Is All You Need?”. Filming begins this week in Los Angeles.

The provocative drama is set in a world where being gay is the norm and heterosexual persons are bullied. In this case a young girl attempts to commit suicide after enduring intolerant treatment from bigoted friends and family. [Source: The Live Feed]
