Madame Bovary
British actor Henry Lloyd-Hughes (“The Inbetweeners”) has scored the male lead in Sophie Barthes’s new adaptation of Gustave Flaubert’s literary classic “Madame Bovary”.

Lloyd-Hughes plays Charles Bovary, the provincial doctor husband of Emma (Mia Wasikowska) who endeavors to love her despite her revolt against the ordinariness of her life. Paul Giamatti, Rhys Ifans and Ezra Miller also star. [Source: Deadline]

Jose Pablo Cantillo (“The Walking Dead,” “Elysium”) has joined the cast of Neill Blomkamp’s next feature “Chappie” at Sony and MRC. Cantillo plays a gangster named Yankie who is after the title character.

The story follows a robot with artificial intelligence who is kidnapped by gangsters planning on using him for nefarious purposes. [Source: THR]

Gone Girl
David Clennon (“House Of Cards”) has joined the cast of David Fincher’s adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s novel “Gone Girl”. Ben Affleck plays a man whose wife (Rosamund Pike) goes missing on their fifth anniversary.

Clennon will play Rand Elliot, the father of the woman. He begins to suspect his son-in-law as the investigation into his daughter’s disappearance grows and her absence lingers. [Source: Deadline]
