Casting Ventimiglia Seyfried Akerman Crystal

“This Is Us” star Milo Ventimiglia is set to play daredevil Evel Knievel in the limited series “Evel” ordered for the USA Network. The series is based on the story of the larger-than-life 1970s daredevil as he prepares for his greatest death-defying feat, the historic Snake River Canyon jump. Etan Frankel will write and executive produce and filming begins next year. [Source: Variety]

A Mouthful Of Air
Amanda Seyfried, Finn Wittrock, Amy Irving, Jennifer Carpenter and Paul Giamatti co-star in the Amy Koppelman-directed feature “A Mouthful Of Air” which begins filming next week in the United States.

The story examines the relationship between the creative process and mental illness. Seyfried will star as Julie, a new mom and children’s book author, who escapes into the bright Crayola colored world of her creation in order to leave behind the darkness caused by her post partum depression. Chick Fight
Malin Akerman is set to produce and star in the Paul Leyden-directed action comedy “Chick Fight” for Yale Productions and Idiot Savant Pictures. Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, Michael J. Rothstein, Anne Clements and Ash Christian also produce.

Joseph Downey penned the script which centers on Anna (Akerman), who still hasn’t reconciled with the recent death of her adored mother. She’s also just discovered her loving and supportive father is gay and accidentally burns down her uninsured coffee shop. Her best friend Charleen takes Anna to an all-women underground fight club, where she slowly rediscovers herself, her inner strength and true purpose. [Source: Deadline]

Here Today
Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish will star in and produce the independent comedy “Here Today” with Crystal directing from a screenplay co-written with Alan Zweibel based on the latter’s short story “The Prize”. Filming begins in New York in October.

Crystal will portray a veteran comedy writer who is slowly but surely losing his grip on reality and befriends a talented young New York street singer (Haddish). They form an unlikely friendship that kicks the generation. [Source: Variety]
