The Inside Game
“Fast & Furious” regular Tyrese Gibson is set to star in the action thriller “The Inside Game” which he co-wrote with Ryan Jackson. Gibson and Jeff Bowler will produce for Voltron Pictures and Wonderfilm Media and a director is being sought ahead of a November shoot.

Gibson plays Miami police officer Jamal Smith who is suspended for excessive force and insubordination. When he returns home to Atlanta, he finds himself thrown into a dark underworld of high stakes extortion that has ensnared his pro football star brother. [Source: Deadline]

Ghostbusters
Newcomers Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim have joined the ensemble cast of Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters 2020” alongside Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace. Details of their roles are unknown. Reitman also co-wrote the screenplay with Gil Kenan and plans to begin shooting this summer ahead of a Summer 2020 release. [Source: Variety]

I Care A Lot
Chirs Messina (“Sharp Objects,’ “Birds of Prey”) has signed on to co-star with Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage and Diane Wiest in the thriller “I Care a Lot” which J Blakeson will direct from his own script for Black Bear and Sugar November.

Pike will play Marla Grayson, a highly successful legal guardian with a knack for using the law to her benefit and her clients’ detriment. When she cherrypicks her seemingly perfect client, however, she soon realizes looks are deceiving. Dinklage will portray a gangster, with Messina as his lawyer. [Source: Variety]

Black Bottom
Dusan Brown (“42”) has scored a lead role alongside Viola Davis, Glynn Turman and Chadwick Boseman in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” for Netflix. George C. Wolfe will direct while Todd Black, Dany Wolf and Denzel Washington will produce.

The story centers on pioneering Queen of the Blues Ma Rainey whilst making a record in a studio in Chicago in 1927 with tensions boiling between her, her white agent and producer and her bandmates. The play on which the film is based won the 1985 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for best American play. Ruben Santiago is adapting the script. [Source: Variety]

Wander
Heather Graham is joining Aaron Eckhart and Katheryn Winnick in the April Mullen-directed and Tim Doiron-penned conspiracy thriller “Wander”. Eckhart plays a mentally unstable private investigator, who, after being hired to probe a suspicious death in the town of Wander, becomes convinced the case is linked to the same ‘conspiracy cover up’ that caused the death of his daughter. Graham playsan attorney and close friend of his who acts as a voice of reason. Filming begins this month in New Mexico. [Source: Deadline]
