Aaron Tveit (“Les Miserables,” “Graceland”) has been cast as head T Bird and bad boy rebel Danny Zuko in Paramount Television’s live broadcast musical version of “Grease” for FOX.
He joins a cast that includes Julianne Hough as Sandy, Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, Keke Palmer as Marty and Carlos PenaVega as Kenickie. The special goes to air on January 31st. [Source: Variety]
The Good Wife
Margo Martindale (“Justified,” “The Americans”) has been cast in a recurring role for the seventh season of CBS’ “The Good Wife”. Martindale will play Willa Eastman, a top campaign operative who uses fake, folksy charm to hide her intelligence and cunning which have helped underdog presidential candidates in Iowa. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Alison Sudol is set to make her feature film debut in the “Harry Potter” spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. The studio is expected to make a decision in the next few days on who will round out the cast.
Sudol will play Queenie, the younger sister of Tina (Katherine Waterston), who runs into Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) when he stops in New York City on his travels to find and document magical creatures. David Yates directs from a script by J.K. Rowling. [Source: Variety]
James Purefoy (“The Following”) and Anna Gunn (“Breaking Bad”) will star in the Wall Street drama “Equity” for Broad Street Pictures. Sarah Megan Thomas and Alysia Reiner also star.
Gunn plays an investment banker threatened by a financial scandal and is forced to re-examine the rules of the cutthroat world she has always loved. Purefoy will play a charismatic investment bank executive who loves taking risks in all things, including his romance with Gunn’s character. [Source: Variety]
