T.I., Dermot Mulroney, Scoot McNairy and David Harbour are set to join Jamie Foxx, Gabrielle Union and Michelle Monaghan in Baran bo Odar’s action thriller “Sleepless Night”. Andrea Berloff penned the script and filming begins June 15th in Atlanta and Las Vegas
Foxx plays a seemingly corrupt Las Vegas cop whose son is kidnaped by gangsters (Mulroney, McNairy) who want a shipment of cocaine he stole as payment. He races to save his child’s life without getting caught by Internal Affairs and before the mobsters discover that he’s actually lost the goods. [Source: Heat Vision]
Jennifer Hudson, Greg Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright and Alison Wright have joined the cast of “Confirmation,” the TV movie about Clarence Thomas’ Supreme Court confirmation hearings. The join Kerry Washington, Wendell Pierce and Eric Stonestreet in the project.
The story explores the explosive 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearings which brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way people think about sexual harassment, victims’ rights and modern-day race relations. [Source: The Live Feed]
The Belko Experiment
Sean Gunn is re-teaming with his brother James Gunn for Greg McLean’s horror film “The Belko Experiment”. Sean will star in the film, which James wrote, as a stoner cafeteria worker. Steve Agee has also joined the project.
The story follows an American company after it’s mysteriously sealed off in South America. Employees show their true colors when they are ordered to kill each other or risk being killed themselves. [Source: Facebook]
James Marsden, Thomas Middleditch, Rosario Dawson, Alfred Molina, Nathan Fillion, Jane Krakowski, Rob Riggle, Craig Robinson and Will Sasso have signed on for the voice roles in the animated comedy feature “Henchmen” at Bron Studios.
Middleditch voices Lester, a new recruit to the Union of Evil, where he is assigned to a motley crew of blue-collar workers led by a fallen henchmen (Marsden). The crew is assigned to the Vault of Villainy where Lester accidentally steals the ultimate weapon. [Source: Variety]
Michael Chiklis (“The Shield”) has joined the cast of Steven Shainberg’s sci-fi thriller “Rupture” starring Noomi Rapace. Brian Nelson (“Hard Candy”) penned the script while Andrew Lazar will produce and filming begins next month.
Rapace plays a single mother struggling to raise her twelve-year-old son alone who is abducted by a mysterious organization. Tied up in their lab, they question her about her medical history, eventually revealing that she has a genetic abnormality that her worst fear can cause her to reveal her own alien nature. Chiklis will play The Bald Man, the powerful point man who directs the mother’s violent capture. [Source: Deadline]
