Brenton Thwaites has scored a key role in Alex Proyas’ epic fantasy “Gods of Egypt” at Summit Entertainment. The story follows the the Egyptian god Set (Gerard Butler) who kills his brother Osiris.

When Osiris’ son Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) fails in his attempt to get revenge, a young human thief (Thwaites) is enlisted to defeat the mad god. Geoffrey Rush also stars. [Source: Variety]

How to Make Love Like An Englishman
Salma Hayek is set to join Pierce Brosnan and Jessica Alba in Tom Vaughan’s indie rom-com “How To Make Love Like An Englishman”. Matthew Newman penned the script.

Brosnan plays a Cambridge University professor who finds a woman who is his ideal match (Hayek), forcing him to reevaluate his hedonistic lifestyle. Trouble is, he’s impregnated her grad student stepsister (Alba). [Source: Deadline]

John Magaro (“Not Fade Away”) has joined Angelina Jolie’s Louis Zamperini biopic “Unbroken” at Universal Pictures. Jack O’Connell plays the U.S. Olympian-turned-WWII prisoner of war.

Magaro will play Frank A. Tinker, an Air Force dive bomb pilot and opera singer who befriends Zamperini en route to a Japanese POW camp. Garrett Hedlund and Domhnall Gleeson also star and filming begins mid-October. [Source: Deadline]

All the Way
“Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston is set to play President Lyndon Johnson for a Broadway run of Robert Schenkkan’s “All the Way”. No opening date has been announced.

The play depicts the early period of LBJ’s presidency and his relationship with key political figures. Cranston has been appearing in the play at the American Repertory Theatre in Massachusetts. [Source: The L.A. Times]
