A Walk in the Woods
Emma Thompson, Nick Offerman and Kristen Schaal are set to join Robert Redford and Nick Nolte in the road trip dramedy “A Walk in the Woods” for Route One Films and Wildwood Enterprises.
Based on the Bill Bryson novel, the story follows two boyhood friends who go their separate ways and come back later in life for an outdoor adventure – a walk along the Appalachian Trail. Ken Kwapis is directing from a script by Michael Arndt. Filming is now underway. [Source: Screen]
The Walking Dead
Seth Gilliam (“Teen Wolf,” “The Wire”) has joined the cast of the fifth season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” as a series regular.
Details on who Gilliam will play are being kept under wraps, though the rumor is it’s the character of preacher Gabriel Stokes, from the comics. [Source: The Live Feed]
Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick are set to star in Paco Cabezas’s “Mr. Right” at Amasia Entertainment. Max Landis (“Chronicle”) penned the script and shooting will begin this fall.
Kendrick will play a woman whose bad luck streak at finding lasting love seems to end when she meets Mr. Right. That’s until she discovers he is a reformed hit man and his dark past is catching up with him. [Source: Deadline]
Rachel Weisz, Harvey Keitel and Paul Dano will join Michael Caine in Italian director Paolo Sorrentino’s “Youth,” his first film since winning the foreign-language film Oscar earlier this year with “The Great Beauty”. Filming begins later this month.
The story follows elderly friends Fred and Mick – one a long retired composer-conductor, the other a still-jobbing film director. The pair are vacationing together in an elegant hotel in the Alps.
