Noomi Rapace, the Swedish actress and star of the current Swedish-language “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” film series, has had meetings in Hollywood this week and the actress is apparently having meetings about a number of high profile projects reports Deadline.
Specifically Warners wants her for “Sherlock Holmes 2”, Paramount wants her for “Mission: Impossible 4”, McG wants her to play a villain in “This Means War”, James McTeigue wants her in “Raven” and Tommy Wirkola wants her for “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”.
An Oscar publicist has also been hired to push Rapace for a Best Actress nomination for her work in ‘Tattoo’.
Rapace isn’t the only one up for a fourth ‘Mission’ film as Australian actress Jacinda Barrett has revealed on her blog that she recently auditioned for the film in Los Angeles.
Seth Rogen has signed on for the Dreamworks Animation 3D feature “Boo U” reports Heat Vision. Rogen will play a ghost forced to return to school to improve his haunting skills.
A 2012 release is planned for the film. Rogen previously starred in “Monsters vs. Aliens” for the studio.
John Woo tells The Hollywood Reporter that he’s after Liam Neeson for the lead role in his $90 million, 1940s bilingual aerial battle epic movie “Flying Tigers” which goes into pre-production in China next month.
If selected, Neeson would play U.S. Army Air Corp Lt. Gen. Claire Lee Chennault, a contentious American officer whose volunteer Flying Tigers squadron trained the first generation of Chinese fighter pilots taking on Japan in WWII.
Neeson’s agents declined to comment on the project. A young Chinese actor is being sought for the role of a pilot in training and Woo mentions Liu Ye (“City of Life and Death”) as a potential candidate.
