Into the Woods
Though she has been linked for a while, Meryl Streep is now confirmed to be starring in the feature adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s hit Broadway musical ‘Into the Woods’.

The musical combines fairytale stories and characters in its story of four wishes and the lengths to which these magical cares will do to make them come true. Streep will play The Witch. [Source: County Times]

Lucky Them
Nina Arianda, Oliver Platt, Ryan Eggold and Ahna O’reilly have been cast in Megan Griffiths’ comedy “Lucky Them”.

Mark Duplass (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Your Sister’s Sister”) has joined the cast of Universal and Blumhouse’s “Mercy,” a fantasy-horror project based on a short from Stephen King’s “Skeleton Crew” collection.

Queen Of The Night
Kevin Durand is re-teaming with filmmaker Atom Egoyan on the kidnapping thriller “Queen Of The Night”. Durand will play the kidnapper in the film which begins shooting next month in Ontario.

The story follows a couple (Ryan Reynolds, Mireille Enos) who are presented with the most concrete evidence of their abducted daughter’s six-year absence by a detective duo (Scott Speedman, Rosario Dawson) who share a similarly estranged relationship. [Source: Deadline]
