Aussie hunk Alex Russell (“Chronicle,” “Bait 3D”) is set to top line Will Bakke’s currently shooting indie film “Believe Me”. Zachary Knighton, Johanna Braddy, Max Adler and hip-hop artist Lecrae also star.

Russell plays a charismatic college kid who recruits his roommates in a scheme that uses a phony charity to bilk gullible churchgoers out of their money. [Source: THR]

Inherent Vice
Joana Newsom has joined the cast of Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Inherent Vice” which is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

No details have yet emerged regarding her role in the 1970’s set tale about an inept, pot-smoking private detective investigating the case of a kidnapped girl, who also happens to be one of his ex-girlfriend. [Source: IndieWire]

Christian Camargo (“Dexter,” “Europa Report”) and Emma Lahana (“Hellcats”) have been added to the cast of Syfy’s “Haven” for its fourth season.

Camargo will play Wade Crocker, the estranged and charming half-brother of Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour). Lahana will portray Jennifer Mason, an eccentric, energetic and off-kilter woman pulled into Haven’s mysteries. [Source: The Live Feed]

Tobias Menzies (“Rome,” “Game of Thrones”) has scored a co-starring role in Starz’s upcoming series “Outlander”. The story follows a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 where she begins a romance with a young Scottish warrior.

Menzies will play her 20th century husband, a historian with an interest in the period. He’ll also play his own ancestor, a Captain in the English Army posted into Scotland during a time when rebellion was rife. [Source: Deadline]
