Thor: The Dark World
Clive Russell (“Sherlock Holmes”) and Richard Brake (“Batman Begins”) have joined the cast of Alan Taylor’s “Thor: The Dark World” at Marvel Studios.

Brake will play a captain in an elite squad of warriors known as the Einherjar. Russell will play Tyr, Asgard’s god of war and the older brother of Thor. [Source: Deadline]

A Thousand Times Good Night
Juliette Binoche has joined cast of Norwegian director Erik Poppe’s drama “A Thousand Times Good Night”.

The story is said to be based on Poppe’s own experiences as a war photographer. Shooting kicks off in October. [Source: Screen Daily]

Girls Like Us
Sony Pictures and director Katie Jacobs are doing readings this week for the parts of Carol King and Carly Simon in Jacobs’ upcoming adaptation of Sheila Weller’s “Girls Like Us”. Whomever is cast will join the already set Taylor Swift as Joni Mitchell in a film exploring the trio’s impact on a generation of female musicians.

Alison Pill, Ari Graynor, Zoe Kazan and Olivia Thirlby are in contention to play King. Allison Williams, Jessica Pare and Analeigh Tipton are up for the role of Simon. [Source: Variety]

David Meunier will reprise his role of Johnny Crowder, Boyd’s cousin, in 10 episodes of the upcoming 13-episode fourth season of FX’s “Justified”.

That work will come on top of his recurring role as Sgt. Strausser in NBC’s post-apocalyptic drama “Revolution”. [Source: The Live Feed]
