Rock of Ages
“Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston will play the mayor of Los Angeles in the film adaptation of rock musical “Rock of Ages” at New Line reports Reuters. Shooting kicks off this month.

The Three Stooges
Larry David is closing in on a deal to play Mother Mengele in the Farrellys “The Three Stooges” for 20th Century Fox reports Deadline.

In the film, Mengele is the unfortunate nun who runs the orphanage where the Stooges grow up and learn to create mayhem. He joins “Glee” star Jane Lynch who plays Mother Superior in the film which begins shooting in May.

The Hunger Games
Four more names have joined Lionsgate’s “The Hunger Games”. Chris Mark and Jacqueline Emerson will play the District 5 tributes, Ashton Moio and Kara Peterson will play the District 6 ones

Laura Vandervoort (“V,” “Smallville”) has been added to the cast of Seth MacFarlane’s “Ted” for Universal Pictures says Deadline.

Vandervoort will play Tayna, a gorgeous salesgirl and a coworker of John (Mark Wahlberg) at the rental car service who is clueless to the gaggle of men who drool over her all day.

Lay the Favorite
“The Gates” star Frank Grillo has joined the cast of the gambling comedy “Lay the Favorite” for Emmet/Furla Films and Random House Films says The Hollywood Reporter.

Grillo will play part of the gambling racket crew lead by Bruce Willis and fancies himself to be a ladies man. Rebecca Hall, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Joshua Jackson also star.

Ting & Juma: The Movie
Canadian comic Harland Williams is developing “Ting & Juma: The Movie” says The Hollywood Reporter.

The CG animated feature film is based on a series of animated shorts produced by Rainmaker Entertainment that follow an energetic alien and a caveman-ish human.
