Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead”) has joined the ensemble cast of John Hillcoat’s “Triple Nine” at Open Road Films. Filming begins this summer.
The story follows a crew of dirty cops blackmailed by the Russian mob to execute a virtually impossible heist. The only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down.” Their plan is turned upside down when the unsuspecting rookie they set up to die foils the attack. Set in the near future, the story posits that single people are arrested and obliged to find a mate within 45 days of their incarceration in a hotel. If they fail to do so, they are transformed into an animal and released into the wild. [Source: THR]
