Angel of Mine
Noomi Rapace has been set to star in the psychological drama “Angel of Mine” which Kim Farrant will direct from a screenplay by “Lion” scribe Luke Davies and David Regal. Filming begins in April.
Rapace plays a mother who, still struggling to cope with the loss of her daughter several years earlier, becomes convinced that a stranger’s daughter is her own. As her obsession grows, she becomes more and more entwined in this young girl’s life and loses touch with reality. [Source: Deadline]
Raffey Cassidy (“The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” “Tomorrowland”) has joined Natalie Portman and Jude Law in Brady Corbet’s new film “Vox Lux” for Bold Films. The soundtrack will feature all original songs written by Sia.
Spanning a fifteen year run from 1999 to 2014, Cassidy plays Celeste, a young woman who rises from the ashes of a major national tragedy to pop superstardom. [Source: Variety]
Mamie Gummer has joined the third season of HBO’s “True Detective”. Gummer will recur as Lucy Purcell, a young mother of two at the center of a tragic crime. Mahershala Ali, Carmen Ejogo, Stephen Dorff and Scoot McNairy co-star.
Season three of the anthology tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods. Pizzolatto serves as showrunner and directs alongside Jeremy Saulnier. [Source: The Live Feed]
Run Away with Me
Amber Heard has been cast as the lead in the Fred Grivois-directed romantic thriller “Run Away With Me” from Sentinel Pictures and XYZ Films. Matthew Ian Cirulnick is penning the script while Adam Brawer and David Beitchman will produce. Filming begins later this year.
The story is centered on Tom and Kimberly (Heard), star-crossed lovers escaping the dark criminal underbelly of the European modelling industry. He is an American visiting Paris for a bachelor party and falls for the beautiful, mysterious Kimberly. [Source: Variety]
