The 9th Life of Louis Drax
“Breaking Bad” actor Aaron Paul has signed on to join Jamie Dornan in Alexandre Aja’s “The 9th Life of Louis Drax”. Aja, Max Minghella, Tim Bricknell and Shawn Williamson will produce.

Based on Liz Jensen’s novel and adapted by Minghella, the story centers on a psychologist (Jamie Dornan) who begins studying a young boy after a near-fatal fall. The doctor gets drawn into a complex mystery that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. Aaron Paul will play the boy’s father. [Source: Variety]

Elisabeth Moss will join Robert Redford and Cate Blanchett in James Vanderbilt’s “Truth,” a film about the scandal that followed after reporter Dan Rather claimed George W. Bush received preferential treatment to avoid the Vietnam War draft.

The aftermath, unfolding against George W. Bush’s re-election campaign, left Rather’s reputation in shreds and his key producer Mary Mapes sacked. Redford plays Rather, Blanchett is Mapes. Moss will play CBS veteran Lucy Scott who was tasked with being Mapes’ new associate producer to “run point” on the scandal. [Source: Deadline]

The Finest Hours
John Magaro (“Unbroken,” “Liberal Arts”) has been cast in Craig Gillespie’s “The Finest Hours” for Disney Pictures. The story chronicles the massive rescue mission following a pair of oil tankers split in two off the coast of Cape Cod in 1952.

Magaro play Ervin Maske, a Coast Guard member who volunteers to join Chris Pine’s character in the rescue. Filming begins next week. [Source: Tracking Board]

Life on the Line
John Travolta, Kate Bosworth and Devon Sawa are set to star in David Hackl’s indie drama “Life on the Line” for Marro Films and Elite Film Productions. Shooting begins next week in Vancouver.

The story follows a crew of eccentric linemen who do the dangerous high-wire work of fixing the electrical grid. They struggle to hold on to the women they love, until a massive storm threatens to rip their lives apart. [Source: EW]

Untitled Celebrity Death Pool Project
Rhys Darby, Jim Jefferies, Jon Lovitz, Flula Borg, Dan Bakkedahl and Colton Dunn have joined the cast of Darren Grant’s untitled celebrity death pool comedy at Hyde Park Entertainment, Image Nation Abu Dhabi, and WWE Studios.

The story centers on a struggling nightclub owner who, after amassing a large debt from a loan shark, sets out to win his long-running celebrity death pool by attempting to kill his chosen celebrity David Hasselhoff. [Source: Deadline]
