Archie Panjabi (“The Good Wife”) has joined Brad Peyton’s action thriller “San Andreas” starring Dwayne Johnson. Panjabi will play Serena, a reporter doing an investigation on the disaster.

Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson has joined the cast of Paul Feig’s spy comedy “Spy” starring Melissa McCarthy as a CIA analyst who goes into the field for the first time. Jackson will play himself.

Jude Law, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, Miranda Hart, Bobby Cannavale and Nia Long also star. Filming begins this month in Budapest. [Source: THR]

Gabriel Basso (“The Kings of Summer”) has scored a lead role in Courtney Hunt’s courtroom drama “The Whole Truth”. Filming begins April 14th in Boston.

Forest Whitaker is in negotiations to star with Jake Gyllenhaal in Antoine Fuqua’s boxing drama “Southpaw” at The Weinstein Company. Kurt Sutter (“Sons of Anarchy”) penned the script and filming begins this summer.

Gyllenhaal plays a left-handed prizefighter who wins a title but suffers a tragedy soon after and must put his life back together. Whitaker plays the second lead, a former fighter who was forced to retire and now trains amateur fighters. [Source: The Wrap]
