Half of a Yellow Sun
“Attack the Block” star John Boyega has signed up for two films – Biyi Bandele’s “Half of a Yellow Sun” starring Thandie Newton and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Dominic Cooper is also in talks for a lead role.
Based on the novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, “Half of a Yellow Sun” recreates a seminal moment in modern African history — Biafra’s impassioned struggle to establish an independent republic in Nigeria, and the chilling violence that followed.
Shooting kicks off next month in Nigeria and London. Boyega is also in negotiations to topline Billy O’Brien’s indie sci-fi flick “Creeping Zero” which shoots this Fall. [Source: Variety]
