Inside Llewelyn Davis
Justin Timberlake has been offered one of the lead roles in the Coen brothers’ folk music pic “Inside Llewyn Davis”. Timberlake would play Jim, a folk musician married to Jean (Carey Mulligan).

The story focuses on the folk music scene in Greenwich Village in the 1960s and the title character (played by Oscar Isaac) is loosely based on Dave Van Ronk, a folk singer who was friends with Bob Dylan, among other famous musicians. [Source: Variety]

The Silver Linings Playbook
Theater actor John Ortiz (“Fast & Furious,” “Public Enemies”) has joined the cast of David O. Russell’s long developing adaptation of Matthew Quick’s novel “The Silver Linings Playbook” for The Weinstein Company.

Ortiz will play lead star Bradley Cooper’s childhood best friend, who still lives near his parents’ home. [Source: Variety]

Brendan Gleeson has joined Robert Redford’s upcoming political fugitive thriller “The Company You Keep”, his role is unspecified.

He joins a cast that includes Redford himself, Shia LaBeouf, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper, Susan Sarandon, Julie Christie, Brit Marling and Anna Kendrick. [Source: Deadline]
