Casting News: Suspect, Still, Resident

The Suspect
Michael K. Williams (“Boardwalk Empire”) and Isaiah Washington (“Grey’s Anatomy”) are teaming to star in and produce the indie-thriller “The Suspect”. Award-winning writer Stuart Connelly penned the script while Life Garland will direct with shooting to kick off next month.

The story follows two African American social scientists pose as bank robbers in an effort to understand the racial dynamics of small-town law enforcement. However, their experiment takes an unplanned, deadly turn. [Source: Shadow & Act]

James Cromwell and Genevieve Bujold are teaming for writer/director Michael McGowan’s fifth theatrical feature “Still” currently shooting in northern Ontario and New Brunswick.

The pair play an elderly couple fighting against local authorities in rural New Brunswick to build their final home. Rick Roberts, Julie Stewart, Jonathan Potts and Campbell Scott also star. [Source: The Hollywood Reporter]

Resident Evil: Retribution
Johann Urb, Oded Fehr and Kevin Durand have joined the cast of next year’s 3D sequel “Resident Evil: Retribution” at Screen Gems.

Fehr will reprise his role from “Resident Evil: Extinction”. Urb’s role is unknown, while Durand plays a resistance leader. [Source: Deadline]
