The Silver Lining’s Playbook
Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly the front runner for a major role in David O. Russell’s “The Silver Linings Playbook”. Lawrence will shoot the film this Fall after “The Hunger Games”.
Wahlberg plays a former high school teacher who was institutionalized for depression and is then released into the care of his mother. He tries to win back his ex-wife but becomes involved with an eccentric neighbor (Lawrence) with problems of her own. [Source: Deadline]
He Loves Me
Toni Trucks (“The Twlight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1”) has joined the cast of Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris’ romantic comedy “He Loves Me” for Fox Searchlight.
The story centers on a novelist (Paul Dano) whose loneliness has caused a serious case of writer’s block. He conjures up his dream girl, who comes to life to be his girlfriend.
Trucks will play the “feisty wife” of Chris Messina’s character. Zoe Kazan, Annette Bening, Deborah Ann Woll and Antonio Banderas also star. [Source: The Hollywood Reporter]
The Place Beyond the Pines
“True Blood” thesp Dane DeHaan has scored one of the last major roles in Derek Cianfrance’s multigenerational crime drama “The Place Beyond the Pines.”
DeHaan will play Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’ son, who gets caught up in a botched drug deal with the son of Bradley Cooper’s character, a cop-turned-politician. Shooting kicks off later this month in Schenectady, NY. [Source: Variety]
