Casting News: Schwartzman, Bullock, Heart

Jason Schwartzman has been cast in Tim Burton’s upcoming drama about painter Margaret Keane and her husband Walter (Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz).

The latter took credit for his wife’s work while she toiled in obscurity. Schwartzman has been cast as San Francisco art gallery owner Ruben. Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski wrote the screenplay. [Source: Screen Daily]

Negotiations have broken down between Sandra Bullock and Sony regarding the upcoming update of the classic comic strip-turned-musical “Annie” which Will Smith and Jay-Z are producing.

Bullock was offered the role of Miss Hannigan, the mean lady who runs the orphanage where Annie (Quvenzhane Wallis) and her fellow orphans live. [Source: Heat Vision]

Lydia Hearst, John Robinson and Brea Grant are set to star in the supernatural mystery “Intuition” at Film Star Pictures. Filming begins in August.
