Man of Steel
“The West Wing” alum Richard Schiff has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot “Man of Steel” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Schiff will play Dr. Emil Hamilton, a character which in the comics served as a scientific advisor for Superman. ‘Steel’ has been shooting in Vancouver and Chicago in recent months. [Source: Variety]

Liz Taylor Biopic
Lindsay Lohan is in early talks to play big-screen icon Elizabeth Taylor in a television movie for the Lifetime cable network.

Larry Thompson (“Amish Grace”) will produce. Lohan posed as another silver screen legend, Marilyn Monroe, in the January/February issue of Playboy. [Source: The Live Feed]

Inside Llewyn Davis
Garrett Hedlund is in negotiations to join the cast of the Coen Brothers’ “Inside Llewyn Davis” in an unspecified role.

Based on the 1960s Greenwich Village folk music scene, the story follows a character loosely based on folk singer Dave Van Ronk. Hedlund previously wasn’t available to do the film but the delay (collapse?) of the “Akira” remake has now freed him up to do so. [Source: Variety]

The Side Effects
Jude Law, Blake Lively and Channing Tatum are all said to be up for roles in Steven Soderbergh’s psychological thriller “The Side Effects” which Scott Z Burns penned.

The story follows a woman (Lively) who turns to prescription drugs to cope with the forthcoming release from prison of her husband (Tatum). Law would play a psychiatrist and shooting would kick off in April. [Source: The Press Association]
