The World’s End
Rosamund Pike (“Wrath of the Titans,” “Die Another Day”) has joined the cast of Edgar Wright’s upcoming comedy “The World’s End” starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

Pike is likely to play one of the friends convinced to go on an epic pub crawl by Pegg’s character which takes place during an apocalypse. Shooting kicks off in the UK next month. [Source: The Daily Mail]

White House Down
Garcelle Beauvais is reuniting with Jamie Foxx on Roland Emmerich’s action-thriller “White House Down” at Sony Pictures. Channing Tatum plays a Secret Service agent who jumps into action when a paramilitary group takes over the White House.

Beauvais, who played Foxx’s love interest in his late 90’s sitcom, will play the First Lady opposite Foxx as the U.S. President. Shooting kicks off this Fall in Montreal. [Source: Heat Vision]

Dead of Winter
Hailee Steinfeld has joined Anthony Mandler’s new thriller “Dead of Winter” for Wind Dancer Productions, Hopscotch Pictures, and Busted Shark. Shooting aims to kick off in early 2013.

Sarah Conradt’s script has Steinfeld playing a teen who heads to a remote cabin in the mountains with her father and new stepmother. When a dangerous fugitive posing as a park ranger shows up, the trio must put aside the family bonding to fight for survival. [Source: Variety]
