Casting News: Imogene, Nardo, Gay

Matt Dillon is joining the indie comedy “Imogene”. Kristen Wiig plays a playwright who stages a fake suicide attempt and is consigned to return to the home of her gambling addict mother (Annette Bening).

Dillon plays the eccentric love interest of Bening’s character and claims to be in the CIA, though his behavior suggests he’s crazy. Shooting commenced this week in New York City. [Source: Deadline]

Road to Nardo
Thomas Middleditch (“Splinterheads”) has scored the title role in the comedy “Road to Nardo” at Sony Pictures.

Scribe Scot Armstrong (“The Hangover”) makes his feature directing debut on the film which follows two roommates who go to great lengths to save their friend (Middleditch) who’s naked and stranded in Mexico. TJ Miller is already cast as one of the friends. [Source: Variety]

Gay Dude
Dakota Johnson (“The Social Network”) has scored the female lead in Chris Nelsons “Gay Dude” at Lionsgate.

The story follows two guys who pact to lose their virginity before prom, only to have one of them come out of the closet. Nicholas Braun, Hunter Cope and Dreama Walker are also set to star. [Source: Variety]
