A Moment to Remember
Katherine Heigl has scored the lead role in “A Moment to Remember” from “The Sessions” director Ben Lewin. The story is an adaptation of the Korean television series, “Pure Soul.”

Heigl plays a fasion designer who begins to suffer from a disease that damages her memory. Her husband is left to try and capture a perfect, lasting moment of their love. Shooting begins this Spring. [Source: THR]

Need for Speed
Dakota Johnson (“Ben And Kate,” “21 Jump Street”) has joined the cast of the film adaptation of the Scott Waugh-directed EA video game “Need for Speed” at DreamWorks.

Aaron Paul plays a man who races at impossible speeds from New York to LA to get revenge on the guy who killed his best friend. Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Michael Keaton, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek and Harrison Gilbertson also star. [Source: Deadline]

The McCarthys
Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver (“Animal Kingdom,” “Silver Linings Playbook”) will co-star in the single-camera comedy pilot “The McCarthys” at CBS/Sony TV. Weaver will play the central family’s loving mother Marjorie who has no filter.

The story revolves around an Irish-Catholic, sports-crazed Boston clan and the gay son whose greatest sin is not his sexuality, but his desire to spend less time with his family. [Source: Deadline]
