Casting News: Fright, X-Men, Apocalypse

Fright Night
Dave Franco (“Greenberg”), brother of James Franco, has joined the cast of Craig Gillespie’s remake of 1985 cult vampire feature “Fright Night” reports The Playlist.

Franco plays the arrogant school bully who harasses Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) – “I’m his nemesis at school until he runs into Colin [Farrell] who is supposed to be the ultimate bad guy in the movie. Yeah I play the d-k, so it’s fun” says Franco.

X-Men: First Class
Deadline reports that Oliver Platt will join the cast as a non-mutant character simply called The Man in Black.

Writer Jane Goldman meanwhile confirmed on the weekend that shooting on the project kicks off in about three weeks with much of the pre-viz work already complete.

Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse
Entertainment Biz! reports that “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe is apparently “keen to get involved” in the long gestating comedy “Jay And Seth Vs. The Apocalypse” starring Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel.

The site claims Radcliffe has been asked to audition for the film which won’t likely shoot until next year. Radcliffe is currently committed to shooting “The Woman in Black” for Hammer Film next.
