300: Battle of Artemisia
Producer Bernie Goldmann says the upcoming “300: Battle of Artemisia” has a “small part” for Lena Headey and Gerard Butler’s King Leonidas and Queen Gorgo characters from the first film.
Goldmann adds that they’re likely to cast less recognizable faces, much like Headey and Butler were at the time that “300” launched. [Source: Movies.com]
Terrence Malick’s Next
Hayley Bennett (“Kaboom,” “Marley & Me,” “Music and Lyrics”) looks to have landed (but not yet signed for) the female lead role in acclaimed director Terrence Malick’s untitled next effort starring Christian Bale. Story details are unknown.
Bennett beat out the likes of Clemence Poesy, Rooney Mara and Mia Wasikowska. Sarah Green and Nicholas Gonda are producing while shooting is scheduled to take place next summer. [Source: Variety]
The English Teacher
Julianne Moore and Greg Kinnear have signed to star in Craig Zisk’s indie comedy “The English Teacher” for Artina Films. Dan and Stacy Chariton wrote the script.
Moore plays a high school English teacher whose life is upended when a former star pupil returns to her small town after failing miserably as a playwright in New York.
Nothing to Fear
Thomas Haden Church is in talks to star in Anthony Leonardi’s “Nothing to Fear” for Slasher Films. The story follows a family’s journey toward a better life, and how it is undone by a charismatic but unbalanced man of the cloth (Church).
Jonathan W.C. Mills wrote the script while Michael Williams, Rob Eric and former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash will produce. Shooting begins late October in Louisiana. [Source: Deadline]
