Casting News: 21, MIB3, Allen, Crackerjack

A couple of casting updates today from the trades:

21 Jump Street
DeRay Davis has joined the cast of the “21 Jump Street” remake at Sony Pictures. Davis will portray Domingo, an inked-up leader of a biker gang, which is also a front for a drug organization.

Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Dave Franco and Rob Riggle also star in the film which begins shooting later this month in New Orleans.

Men in Black III
Michael Stuhlbarg (“A Serious Man,” “Boardwalk Empire”) has joined the cast of “Men in Black III” as a character named Griffin, a role rumoured to be a “fast-talking Yoda-type alien”. Sharlto Copley (“District 9,” “The A-Team”) was previously in talks for the part.

Woody Allen’s Next
Ellen Page and Penelope Cruz have locked down their roles in Woody Allen’s next project which shoots this Summer in Rome.

Jesse Eisenberg’s deal has also been finalised, with the trio set to join Alec Baldwin in the film that Allen is directing from his own screenplay. Story and character details are unknown at this time

Comedian Jeff Foxworthy will make his live-action feature debut in Bryan Coley’s sports comedy “Crackerjack”.

Wes Murphy plays irresponsible young man with serious abandomnent issues, who tries to balance his relationship with his girlfriend while leading his church softball team to victory.

Foxworthy will play the announcer for the Church League softball games. Shooting started today in Savannah, Georgia.
