Stage director Rufus Norris is set to make his feature debut with an adaptation of Daniel Clay’s novel “Broken” for BBC Films.

Cillian Murphy is attached to star in this modern-day “To Kill a Mockingbird”-esque tale set in the North of England and deals with distrust and hatred in a small community. Mark O’Rowe adapted the script. [Source: Screen Daily]

Ramin Bahrani’s Next
Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron have signed on for an untitled Ramin Bahrani feature from Bankside Films. Quaid will play a farmer whose manic expansion alienates his sons and devoted wife. Shooting kicks off in the Summer. [Source: Variety]

Dracula 3D
Thomas Kretschmann (“Valkyrie,” “The Pianist”) has signed on to play the titular vampire in Dario Argento’s “Dracula 3D” for Multimedia Film Production and Enrico Cerezo Productions.

This $10 million Italian-Spanish take on Bram Stoker’s classic story also stars Asia Argento and Marta Gastini, with Rutger Hauer as Van Helsing. Shooting kicks off May 30th in Northern Italy. [Source: Screen Daily]
