The Evil Within
Anson Mount (“Hell on Wheels”), Jackie Earle Haley (“Watchmen”) and Jennifer Carpenter (“Dexter”) are set to lend their voices to the upcoming horror video game “The Evil Within”.

Mount and Carpenter play detectives visiting a mental asylum, the scene of a bloody mass murder where police officers lie slaughtered. Mount’s character finds himself alone and battling with a hooded tormentor (Haley). The game launches October 14th. [Source: Joystiq]

Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?
Director Lee Daniels and producer Oprah Winfrey have now confirmed the previously reported news – that Mike Epps has been set to star as legendary comedian Richard Pryor in Daniels’ upcoming biopic.

Entitled “Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?,” Epps beat out the likes of Michael B. Jordan and Marlon Wayans for the role and the actor reportedly just finished a first readthrough session this week. [Source: Twitter]

Straight Outta Compton
Keith Stanfield (“Short Term 12”) has joined the cast of F. Gary Gray’s N.W.A. biopic “Straight Outta Compton.” Stanfield will take on the role of hip hop titan Snoop Dogg.

He joins a cast that includes O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Aldis Hodge and Neil Brown Jr. as N.W.A., with Paul Giamatti as their manager. [Source: The Wrap]

The Cellar
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”) is set to join John Goodman in the JJ Abrams-produced “The Cellar” for Bad Robot and Paramount Insurge. Dan Trachtenberg (Portal: No Escape) is helming from a script by Dan Casey, Josh Campbell and Matthew Stuecken.

The story follows a woman who wakes up underground after a terrible car accident and fears she’s been abducted. Her captor, a doomsday preacher, warns her that a terrible chemical attack has left the outside world uninhabitable but as tensions rise she decides she must escape regardless of the terrors that await outside. Pay The Ghost
Sarah Wayne Callis (“The Walking Dead,” “Prison Break”) will join Nicolas Cage in the supernatural thriller “Pay The Ghost” for Voltage Pictures. Cage plays a professor whose young son goes missing during a Halloween parade in New York City. A year later he uncovers clues leading to a vicious ghost that abducts children.

Callies will play Kristen, Cage’s estranged wife and a whip smart environmental attorney who teams up with her husband to recover their son before he’s lost to the spirit world forever. Filming is slated to begin next month in Toronto. [Source: Deadline]
