Casting: Modine, Aykroyd, Cooper, Lynch

Matthew Modine has joined the cast of Joshua Michael Stern’s Steve Jobs biopic “Jobs” as John Sculley, the man who recruited Jobs to lead Apple in 1983 and famously “fired” Jobs two years later.

Sculley remained as Apple CEO from 1983 to 1993. Modine joins a cast that includes Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad, while shooting kicks off in June. [Source: THR]

Behind the Candelabra
Dan Aykroyd is set to join the upcoming HBO telemovie “Behind the Candelabra”, a biopic on musician Liberace.

Michael Douglas is set to play Liberace, while Matt Damon is set to play his domestic partner Scott Thorson. Aykroyd plays Liberace’s long-time manager Seymour Heller. [Source: Variety]

Oliver Cooper (“Project X”), Shirley MacLaine and Robin Williams are attached to Andy Bergman’s ensemble comedy “A Film By Alan Stuart Eisner”.

The story follows a young documentary filmmaker with a burning desire to bring his family’s amazing and bizarre World War II history to the screen. Rob Reiner will make a cameo. [Source: Deadline]

Monster Butler
Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood in the “Harry Potter” films) has joined the cast of the true story indie crime thriller “Monster Butler” starring Malcolm McDowell as a bisexual jewel thief/con man/serial killer.

Lynch will play a young woman intrigued by her upper-class family’s new and seemingly all-knowing butler, McDowell’s character, and soon acts out her desire for excitement and danger with him. [Source: Heat Vision]
