Sophie McShera (“Downton Abbey”) is in negotiations to play a wicked stepsister in Kenneth Branagh’s live action “Cinderella” at Disney Pictures. Shooting begins this Fall in London.

McShera’s character constantly ridicules Cinderella (Lily James), the orphan girl who with the help of a fairy godmother and some magic overcomes challenges to find a prince (Richard Madden) and true love. [Source: THR]

Dan Stevens (“Downton Abbey”) will star in Adam Wingard’s indie drama “The Guest.” Simon Barrett is adapting the script and shooting begins later this summer.

Big Eyes
Krysten Ritter is set to join Tim Burton’s “Big Eyes”. Ritter will play DeeAnn, the free-spirited confidante of the female lead who tries to coax her friend to come out of her shy shell.

The story follows Margaret and Walter Keane (Amy Adams, Christoph Waltz), the married couple whose paintings of large-eyed children became one of the first mass-marketed art sensations of the 1950s and 1960s. [Source: Deadline]

Evan Peters (“American Horror Story”) and Donald Glover (“Community”) have joined David Gelb’s upcoming horror thriller “Reawakening” at Lionsgate.

The story follows a team of scientists who discover an experimental serum with the potential to bring the dead back to life. After losing his or her own daughter, the team’s lead scientist tests the serum on her corpse, leading to terrifying results. [Source: The Wrap]
