Going in Style
Matt Dillon and legendary actress Ann Margret have joined the cast of Zach Braff’s upcoming remake of Martin Brest’s 1979 comedy”Going in Style” for New Line. Alan Arkin, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine star as lifelong friends who decide to rob the bank that bilked them out of their hard-earned pensions.

Dillon will play the FBI agent pursuing the elderly trio, while Margret will play Arkin’s love interest. This will be Margret’s first studio comedy since 2009’s “Old Dogs”. [Source: The Wrap]

War Machine
Topher Grace will play Brad Pitt’s wingman in Netflix’s upcoming war-on-terror-themed black comedy “War Machine” based on Michael Hastings’ best-selling nonfiction novel “The Operators”.

Pitt stars as a four-star rock star U.S. general with Grace to play his civilian press adviser. David Michod penned and directs the project which Pitt, Dede Gardner, Ian Bryce and Jeremy Kleiner are producing. [Source: Deadline]

The Promise
Angela Sarafyan (“Westworld”) has been cast as Oscar Isaac’s wife from an arranged marriage in Terry George’s Armenian Genocide-themed love story “The Promise” which has been penned by Robin Swicord.

Set during the last days of the Ottoman Empire, Isaac stars alongside Christian Bale and Charlotte Le Bon. Le Bon serves as the center of a love triangle between them. Shooting kicks off in Portugal and the Canary Islands this Fall. [Source: The Wrap]

Reese Witherspoon will star in and produce the supernatural thriller “Cold” for Lionsgate based on a pitch by Bill Marsilii. Plot details for the movie are under wraps. Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea are already developing a movie version of “Luckiest Girl Alive” for Lionsgate. [Source: Variety]
