Into the Woods
Billy Magnussen (“As the World Turns”) is in final negotiations to replace Jake Gyllenhaal in Rob Marshall’s stage musical adaptation “Into The Woods” at Disney Pictures. Filming begins in London this fall.
Magnussen will play the prince love interest of Rapunzel. Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Chris Pine, Anna Kendrick, James Corden and Emily Blunt also star. [Source: Deadline]
The Fault in Our Stars
Laura Dern is set to star alongside Shailene Woodley in the adaptation of John Green’s novel “The Fault in Our Stars” at 20th Century Fox.
The story follows two young cancer patients who fall for each other during treatment. Dern would play Woodley’s mom. [Source: Variety]
Squirrel to the Nuts
Imogen Poots (“Fright Night,” “Need for Speed”) has replaced Brie Larson in Peter Bogdanovich’s showbiz-themed comedy “Squirrel to the Nuts”. Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach are producing the film which is currently shooting in New York.
Poots will play a prostitute-turned-Broadway-actress who gets a career boost from a married Broadway director (Owen Wilson) who falls for her. Jennifer Aniston, Cybill Shepherd and Richard Lewis also star. [Source: The Wrap]
Terrence Howard has joined the cast of Fox’s M. Night Shyamalan-produced event series thriller “Wayward Pines” which premieres next year.
