The Man Who Killed Don Quixote
Olga Kurylenko (“Quantum of Solace”) is set to join Adam Driver and Michael Palin in Terry Gilliam’s long in the works “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” at Alfama Films. Paolo Branco is also aboard as producer which aims to begin shooting in Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands in October.

Gilliam co-wrote the script with Tony Grisoni. Palin is set to play Don Quixote and Driver is an advertising executive who is mistaken by Quixote for his friend Sancho Panza. The film is set entirely in the present day. [Source: Deadline]

The Square
Elisabeth Moss (“Mad Men”) has signed on to star alongside Danish actors Claes Bang and Christopher Laesso in “Force Majeure” director Ruben Ostlund’s darkly humorous drama “The Square” which deals with responsibility for other individuals in public spaces. The film will be shot from June to October in Sweden and Berlin for a 2017 release. [Source: THR]

Hunting Lila
“American Honey” breakout star Sasha Lane has scored the title role in the young adult feature “Hunting Lila”. Oscar winning VFX supervisor Paul J Franklin is attached to make his directorial debut on the project based on the books by Sarah Alderson which the author has adapted.

The story centers on Lila, a teenage girl who goes on the run after exposing her dangerous mind power, only to find herself at the heart of a secret war being fought between a shadowy military organization and a fugitive gang who might be just like her. Carmen Ejogo is also in talks to join the cast. [Source: Deadline]

The Third Wave
Ellen Page and Sam Keeley are set to star in the thriller “The Third Wave”. David Freyne will be making his feature directorial debut on the film which Page, Rachael O’Kane and Rory Dungan will produce. Shooting begins later this year in Ireland.

The story is set in a time after a virus that transformed humans into zombie-like monsters has been cured. But many of the once-infected humans are now shunned by society and even their families, creating social unrest that leads to militant government interference. [Source: Heat Vision

Wanda Sykes and Ike Barinholtz are set to join the Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn-led comedy “Mother/Daughter” at 20th Century Fox. Jonathan Levine helms from a script by Kate Dippold (“Ghostbusters”) with filming to begin in Hawaii later this month. Sykes will play Ruth, a hotel resident offering some advice to the titular duo. Tom Bateman also stars in the film which Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping are producing. [Source: Deadline]
