Casting: Keach, Skarsgard, Mazar, Dushku

Stacy Keach has joined the cast of Tod ‘Kip’ Williams’ film adaptation of Stephen King’s apocalyptic thriller “Cell”. John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson and Isabelle Fuhrman also star and filming has just begun in Atlanta.

The story is set in a society after a mysterious pulse transmitted through cellphones spreads like a virus through the human population. Keach will play the headmaster of a prep school where the survivors stop along their way. [Source: Variety]

Stellan Skarsgard is in talks to join Susanna White’s film adaptation of John Le Carre’s international spy thriller “Our Kind Of Traitor” at StudioCanal.

Gregg Allman Biopic
Eliza Dushku, Bradley Whitford and Joel David Moore have all signed on for Midnight Rider,” the biopic about musician Gregg Allman, which begins filming later this month in Savannah.

Dushku will play a small town Southern girl who inspires the song “Whipping Post.” Whitford will play Allman’s current manager Michael Lehman and Moore will play manager Bill McEuen, who discovered the brothers and brought them to Los Angeles. [Source: Variety]
