The Dead Don’t Die
Caleb Landry Jones has joined the cast of Jim Jarmusch’s upcoming zombie comedy feature “The Dead Don’t Die” for Focus Features and Universal Pictures International. Details of his role are currently unknown.
Jones joins a cast that includes Bill Murray, Selena Gomez, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, and Chloe Sevigny. Shooting has been underway for at least several weeks in Upstate New York. Joshua Astrachan and Carter Logan are producing. [Source: Variety]
Cameron Boyce (“Descendants,” “Eagle Eye”) will star in the William Coakley-directed indie film “Runt”. Boyce will play Cal, a teenage boy who, after a troubling incident transpires, proves to be a young man with a take-no-prisoners attitude.
Coakley, Christian Van Gregg, and Armand Constantine penned the script while Carl Rumbaugh and Gregory Thomas are producing. Filming is now underway. [Source: Deadline]
All Day & A Night
Ashton Sanders (“Moonlight,” “Equalizer 2”) is set to star with Jeffrey Wright in “Black Panther” co-writer Joe Robert Cole’s new feature “All Day & A Night” for Netflix. Nina Jacobson is producing and filming kicks off July 30th.
The title refers to an unending, relentless prison stretch with Sanders playing Jah, a young man who committed a homicide and is facing that sentence as he faces the repercussions of his actions. [Source: The Playlist]
Keith L. Williams, Brady Noon, Molly Gordon and Midori Francis will join Jacob Tremblay in the R-rated comedy “Good Boys” for Universal Pictures & Point Grey. The story follows four twelve-year-old boys who skip school and embark on a day-long adventure fraught with comedic peril across the San Fernando Valley. Lee Eisenberg & Gene Stupnitsky penned and will direct the film scheduled for an August 16th 2019 release. [Source: Deadline]
