Richard Jenkins will star in Charles-Olivier Michaud’s $5 million indie drama “One Square Mile”. Shooting kicks off in August in Seattle.

Marcy Holland penned the script about a woman named Grace (Kelcie Stranahan) accused of killing another woman in an accident. The victim reaches out from beyond the grave to help unveil the truth about what happened. [Source: Variety]
Mia Kirshner (“The Vampire Diaries”) and Fionnula Flanagan (“Lost”) have joined the cast of Syfy’s new drama series “Defiance”. Set in the near future after a universal war, the action is set in one of the new world’s few oasis of civility and inclusion.
Kirshner will play the town’s dauntless madam who is inexorably woven into many of its complicated affairs. Flanagan will portray the popular ex-mayor and trusted mentor to her successor Amanda (Julie Benz). The pilot kicks off filming in Toronto this month. [Source: Spoiler TV]
