Casting: Hours, Americans, Challenger

Genesis Rodriguez (“Man On A Ledge”) is in negotiations to star opposite Paul Walker in Eric Heisserer’s post-Hurricane Katrina indie thriller “Hours”.

The Americans
Former “Felicity” star Keri Russell has scored the female lead in FX’s drama pilot “The Americans”.

Russell will play one of two KGB spies posing as a married American couple in early 1980s Washington, DC. Her husband has yet to be cast. [Source: E! Online]

The Challenger
Michael Clarke Duncan and S. Epatha Merkerson have signed on for Kent Moran’s upcoming boxing drama “The Challenger”. Justin Hartley, Ernie Sabella and Lindsay Hartley also star in the film which began shooting this month in New York.

The story centers on a struggling Bronx auto mechanic (Moran) forced back into boxing after he and his mother are evicted from their home and is helped by a legendary trainer (Duncan). [Source: Deadline]
