That’s What I’m Talking About
Tyler Hoechlin (“Teen Wolf”), Blake Jenner (“Glee”) and Wyatt Russell (“22 Jump Street”) have reportedly been offered the leading roles in “Boyhood” director Richard Linklater’s baseball-themed next film “That’s What I’m Talking About”.
Set in 1980, the story follows a college freshman who moves into the baseball house at his college and experiences a fraternity like lifestyle with his hard partying teammates. Each of the trio has an offer to play one of the lead baseball players in the film which is said to have the same tone as Linklater’s classic “Dazed and Confused”. [Source: Deadline]
Andron – The Black Labyrinth
Alec Baldwin and Danny Glover have joined the cast of Francesco Cinquemani’s sci-fi/action film “Andron – The Black Labyrinth” for AMBI Pictures. Michelle Ryan, Jon Kortajarena, Gale Harold and Leo Howard also star. Filming begins this month in Malta.
The story follows a group of young men and women who awake in a dark, claustrophobic maze. They don’t remember who they are or how they got stuck in the black labyrinth. The group must learn to decipher codes, understand the signals and beat the tests to survive, while the outside world watches and wages bets on their fates. [Source: Heat Vision]
Ashley Judd and Demian Bichir will join Nicholas Braun, Zoey Deutch, Israel Broussard and Mateo Arias in the teen coming-of-age comedy “Good Kids” for Voltage Pictures and Depth of Field. Filming began today in Massachusetts.
The story follows four overachieving Cape Cod high school students who decide to reinvent themselves as rebels in order to enjoy their last time together. Judd will play a beautiful “tennis wife” and Bichir the senior tennis coach at her club. [Source: Variety]
Dane DeHaan and Rooney Mara are attached to star in the original musical “Ziggy,” the debut feature of Baz Luhrmann’s protege Diesel Schwarze. British music producer and songwriter Alex Da Kid will develop original contemporary music for the film.
DeHaan plays a hunchback escape artist who arrives in New York during the mass-culture boom of the late 1920s. He falls in love with the fiance (Mara) of a powerful media mogul, the story charts his rise to fame and subsequent fall. [Source: Deadline]
Elizabeth Gillies (“Victorious,” “Animal”) has scored a small role in the “Vacation” film series reboot at New Line. Specifics of her role are unknown.
