Untitled Vanessa del Rio Biopic
Zulay Henao (“Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club”) has signed on to portray Vanessa del Rio in Thomas Mignone’s untitled biopic about the adult film legend. Filming aims to begin in October in Los Angeles and New York.
The script details how Harlem-raised Ana Maria Sanchez went from a waitressing job to prostitution to adult films under the name Vanessa del Rio in the 1970s. Dubbed the ‘Latin from Manhattan,’ she became the first adult film star of Latin decent and enjoyed fame on a level akin to John Holmes and Linda Lovelace. [Source: THR]
