Casting: Harris, Luke, Teller, Pressly

Ed Harris is set to play the title role in Michael Almereyda’s reimagined take on Shakespeare’s “Cymbeline”. Shooting begins in two weeks in New York City.

This take on the play, described as “Sons Of Anarchy” meets Baz Luhrmann’s “Romeo+Juliet”, deals with an epic battle between corrupt police officers and a drug dealing biker gang. [Source: Screen Daily]

Jersey Boys
Jeremy Luke and Joey Russo have been cast in Clint Eastwood’s film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical “Jersey Boys” at Warner Bros. Pictures and GK Films.

The story chronicles the rise and fall of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Luke will play Donnie, a loan shark who is trying to extort money from Frankie Valli. Russo has been cast as Joe “Joey” Pesci, who helped create the ’60s musical group. [Source: THR]

Miles Teller (“Project X,” “The Spectacular Now”) has signed on to star in Damien Chazelle’s “Whiplash,” based on the Sundance Short Film Jury Award-winning pic of the same title. Filming begins in September.

Jennifer Falls
Jaime Pressly (“My Name is Earl”) will play the title character on TV Land’s multi-camera comedy pilot “Jennifer Falls”. Pressly plays Jennifer Doyle in the project from creator and executive producer Matthew Carlson (“The Wonder Years,” “Malcolm in the Middle”).

The story follows a career woman and mother who must move back in with her own mom after being let go from her high-powered, high-paying job. With a teen daughter in tow, she tries to reconnect with old friends and make ends meet as a waitress in her brother’s bar. [Source: The Wrap]
